Learn the DISC communication-styles model, the communication preferences and dislikes of the four different styles. Identify your own DISC style (assessment included in the workshop) and what this means for you in terms of how you currently come across to others. Learn how to identify the DISC style of your stakeholder how to influence them and create an action plan. Practise adapting to each of the styles through role-play.
Learn how to create instant impact through the words you use, your voice and your body language. Learn how to structure an impactful communication using the highly powerful 3Ts framework which can be applied to both planned and spontaneous communications. Explore the role of voice and language when influencing and the common mistakes people make. Practice a. number of techniques around vocal variation, stance, hand gestures and eye-contact and gain valuable feedback.
Learn the fundamentals of how to get someone to want to buy into your idea, and how to gain their interest. Learn and apply WIIFY principle for positioning ideas and how to communicate in benefits rather than features. Gain some valuable principles to help you position your ideas including using ‘so what’, keywords and quantifiers to gain buy-in.
Understanding the psychology behind objections and how to use them to help you move towards agreement. Learn three powerful objection handling techniques and how to anticipate, prepare for and handle the objections you get. Explore how you can challenge other people's viewpoints in a respectful way in order to influence them to consider an alternative path. Learn phrases to use and phrases to avoid.
This course was wonderful. Prior to attending I had always assumed that you were either influential or you weren't. Now I realise that being influential and impactful is not to do with job title, seniority or natural ability . It is about applying a set of skills and tools and this course gave me exactly that. I also loved that we worked on real situations and I have alreayd successfully delivered som e of the communications I prepared during the course and got a "Yes" response!
