It’s tempting as a manager to tell your team exactly how to go about their job and all the tasks within it. However, often the best work happens when people have come up with their own solutions and ways of doing things enabling them to feel motivated and allowing them to develop. As a manager the way you can encourage this is by coaching your team.

This workshop will introduce you to the concept of coaching and questioning in addition to giving you the tools and skills to coach in the workplace immediately after the workshop. This is a highly interactive and practical workshop in which you will have the opportunity to both coach and be coached.

The ability to help people find solutions

Explore what is actually meant by coaching and how it can be used to unlock people's potential. Understand what coaching is not and contrast it with other communications such as mentoring, giving advice and giving feedback. Learn what situations a coaching approach can be useful and the benefits it will bring.

Improved listening & questioning skills

Understand what makes a good coaching question and what types of coaching questions to avoid. Practice asking coaching questions in a range of different scenarios. Learn how to effectively listen and what this means in the context of coaching

A framework for coaching conversations

Discover the GROW model- a framework that can be followed when having coaching conversations. Learn different types of questions you can ask in each stage of the GROW model and how to ensure that your coachee has space to explore their situation whilst also staying focused on the goal. Learn powerful questions to unlock creative thinking and enable your coachee to generate solutions.

Tools to improve performance

Gain some additional tools to help you use coaching in the context of improving performance. Learn how coaching can be used in combination with giving feedback.

Real experience of running Coaching sessions

Run some real coaching sessions during the training after which you will have the opportunity to gain feedback on your coaching. You will also receive some coaching during the workshop giving you a chance to experience what it is like to be coached and enabling you to generate some solutions and plans for some real life scenarios.

How would you like your course delivered?

This training course is available for face-to-face delivery. We will travel to your offices and create a fully immersive experience which includes theory, demonstrations, activities, action planning and the added bonus of your employees being able to meet and network with colleagues.

Virtual

This training course can be delivered virtually — either as complete days or over a series of bite-sized modules, helping you to manage you time better. We can adapt the course length and format to suit your needs and we can also offer a hybrid option.
